    I bought a new carburetor. and it still did not run correct. After looking closer I noticed the heat dam was cracked. It would rev up too high because the crack in the heat dam was letting too much air into the engine. Once I put the new heat dam and gasket in it runs fine.

    1. Removed part of cover
    2. Removed fuel hose from carb
    3. Removed filter cover and nuts that held filter to base stud
    4. Removed carb from studs with intake gasket removed screws, removed heat dam and dam gasket
    5. Reversed to install new dam gasket. heat dam carb studs and screws
    6. Install carb .and gasket. filter housing.filterand filter cover
    7. Put fuel lines in place on carb .primed and started. job completed

    Removed side cover remove air filter then carb. The heat dam is next. Install in reversed order be careful not to over tighten the carb bolt
