1. Removed the old sub fence then the old guide rule
2. Installed the new guide rule and aligned it with the saw blade
3. Check the alignment and tightened the bolts

one half of guide rule was not perpendicular to blade (guide rule was bent in middle)

Parts Used
with a straight edge, checked replacement guide rule for both halves of guide rule being in alignment; removed hold down clamp, removed old guide rule; installed new guide rule; reinstalled hold down clamp; using a T-square, adjusted guide rule until both sides of the guide rule were perpendicular to the blade
