This is a high-quality manufacturer sourced replacement 14" guide bar that is specially designed for use with Echo chainsaws. The bar helps to secure and guide the chain that cuts the material, if it is bent or worn it may cause the chain to slip posting a serious danger and requiring immediate replacement. It is a high-quality component which is made of durable metal and it is sold individually, please note the hardware to secure it is sold separately.

    Worn tensioner screw and bar

    Removed the sprocket guard
    Loosened the tension on the blade and the bar
    Remove the blade and bar
    Remove the old tensioner and the adjustment screw
    Install the new bar and chain
    Install the sprocket guard

    Remove the sprocket guard
    Removed the bar and chain
    Removed the stripped screw from the housing and install the new one
    Installed the new bar and chain
    Replace the sprocket cover
    Adjusted the tension on the bar and chain

    Nothing to it. Removed the two bar hold down nuts, replaced bar and fitted new chain. Presto, ready to go.

    For anyone who is doing this for the first time just make sure you don't install the chain backwards. That can create a dangerous kickback situation. Not to mention it won't cut.
