Description:

This is an OEM MTD, Troy-Bilt, and Cub Cadet part directly sourced from the manufacturer for use in lawn mowers and lawn tractors. The finger guard attaches to the deck shell and is made out of metal. When replacing this item a wrench set might be required during the installation process. It will need to be replaced if it becomes broken. This is available as an individual replacement part.

Socket set, Wrench Set, Pry bar or large screwdriver

Finger guard broke.

1. Removed the three bolts holding the finger guard. Need an extension on ratchet and a universal joint for an extension on the end with 2 bolts due to accessibility.
2. Remove old finger guard pieces.
3. Install the new finger guard by inserting 1 bolt on each end with starting bolt. Had to use a pry bar to stretch the mower deck slightly to get it to fit snugly in place.
4. Tighten each of the three bolts, and you are good to go.
