The existing fuel lines were deteriorated and leaking
This was the feather light model. I used an allen wrench to unbolt the air and fuel intake assembly. It also holds the tank in place. Just slide the tank in and connect the lines. You need observe closely and be sure and connect the priming bulb to the air intake on the tank and the fuel line to the carburetor. But it went fine and the weed eater runs great. A simple and inexpensive repair. There were no written instructions with the part, but for me they were not necessary.

Leaking fuel tank and limited fuel flow to carburetor
1. Clean the areas around the fuel tank and fuel lines while studying the attachment of the tank
2. Ensure you have a clean work space and a means to keep the hardware organized
3. Empty, or ensure that the fuel tank is empty
4. Separate the fuel lines from the carburetor and primer bulb assembly
5. Gain access to the fuel tank attachment hardware, then remove the tank
6. Examine the fuel lines-one leads to the fuel filter flopping mid tank, the other attaches at the top of the tank. Also, ensure the lines do not slip easily through the holes in the tank.
7. Attach the line with the fuel filter to the nipple at the carburetor inlet
8. Attach the other line to the nipple at the primer bulb
9. Attach the fuel tank and other parts removed for accessibility
10. Fill tank, prime, start

  • Just what I needed.
This replacement tank with the fuel lines fit my weed eater that's 25 years old perfectly, I was happy I didn't have to throw it away and buy a new one. Great price on it also.

    Weedeater Featherlite
I am a 75 yr old woman (not feeble). I have 2 Weedeaters and they hard touchy starters. The pull cord and spring needed replacement on both and the fuel lines became brittle and the fuel filter of course was dirty. I replaced the fuel tank, lines and filter once a few years ago, and now have had to work on them again to replace the spring and the fuel tank assembly again. These are 11 and 16 years old. Weedeater has been discontinued and no lawn equipment repair takes them. I've had to take them apart using YouTube videos and THANK YOU eReplacement Parts for continuing to supply the parts. With the junky weed machines for $100 and decent ones for $200-$250, I will continue to order from eReplacement.com. Great parts that fit and great service!
