Engine would start cutting out and then it would quit running. Then it wouldn't start again until it cooled off.

Take the wires off of the carburetor solenoid and put a wrench between the solenoid and the carburetor Bowl and remove the solenoid. Then put the new one in its place. The way I figured it out that it needed a new solenoid I sprayed cold water on it to cool it off and then it would start right back up again. It would run fine until the solenoid got real hot again. I just change the pre-filter and the fuel filter because it needed it. I was glad two fine parts for my 16 year old craftsman lawn tractor to make it run like new again. I have run it for about 3 hours so far so good.

The bolts fastening the grass catcher chute together needed replaced. I also serviced the mower by changing oil, oil filter, fuel filter and air filter. New lights in headlamps.

    Brent - May 6, 2020
Replaced bolts in broke grass catcher chute.

Removed hood from mower by disconnecting wiring harness for headlamps and pulling hood off latch.
Drained engine oil and then removed oil filter.
Replaced new filter, then oil plug and refilled engine oil.
Took old fuel filter off on carburetor side first and put new filter on. Then removed old filter off fuel tank side and slid fuel line on to new filter. Very little fuel spill.
Removed cover to air filter and replaced old with new air filter. Reinstalled cover.
Took old headlamps out and replaced with new bulbs.
Reinstalled hood to mower and reattached wiring harness.
