Product Description ?

This genuine part is supplied by the original equipment manufacturer for use with Ryobi handheld lawn and garden equipment. The cap is designed to keep the fuel in the tank. Note that it is a vented cap that lets the air back into the tank so a vacuum is not created. It provides an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty component that was included with a new unit. Please make sure to check the diagrams of your model for the correct location and installation. Keep in mind this high-quality fuel cap assembly is made of durable plastic and is sold individually.

It was time to perform a major tune-up on my 4-cycle trimmer. This included replacing the air filter and spark plug. Also, an oil change and gap check and inspection on the valve rockers.
The gas cap had leaked from the filtered-vent. Previous cleanings failed to correct this issue. the only remedy is to replace the fuel cap.

It was as easy as just replacing the old cap with the new one. Personally I found this to be a poor design on Ryobi's part as the gas deteriorates this type of system that allows the air to flow thru preventing what one would call a vapor lock.
