Replacing this wheel assembly is a simple task that should only require a wrench.
• First you want to remove the lock nut
• Remove old wheel and secure the new one

It seemed like it was getting harder and harder to mow my lawn; I though maybe I was just getting old :).....one day I noticed that my "self-propelled" mower wasn't doing a very good job of self-propelling. I popped off the front wheels (9/16 socket) and observed that the plastic gears on the inside of the wheel were severely stripped/worn down on both wheels. When I received my new wheels, I cleaned the gear contact area with a screwdriver (to scrape of mud and matted grass) and then compressed air; sprayed a little silicon lubricant, and, the mower is again self-propelled. Simple job; took me ~10 minutes max

Removed the old wheel. Installed the new one in less than 10 minutes. Inside Front Drive wheel Plastic Gears were worn out.

Prop mower front wheels off of ground. Unscrew each of the wheel bolts. Remove the old wheels. Insert the new wheels replace and tighten wheel bolts with a socket set.

Remove the wheel lock nuts and replace the wheels. Removed gas from tank and turned mower on side so I can have access to the top and bottom of mower Remove the blade and belt belt guards. Slide the blade pulley off the shaft. Removed and installed the new belt. Replaced the pulley. Placed the belt on the pulley...this was difficult. Replaced belt guards and blade.
