Had to drop the mower deck, doing that and reattaching it was the hardest, then remove the two bolts to attach the new center baffle.

I got the two mulching blades so I can always have a sharp pair to replace the dull ones. I can resharpen the dull ones at my convenience.

Bad engineering. After a few uses the ear that hold the center baffle to the mower deck vibrates a crack and brakes off

Removed the two bolts that hold the center baffle to the mower deck and replaced it with the new one and bolted it back in place. I may drill. Couple of more holes and bolts if possible to attach the baffle to the mower deck. The one ear that suppose to hold the baffle to the deck is flimsy and I'm sure it won't hold ether after a runs with the mower. I think most people just throw the baffle away after it comes lose. These mower decks are stamped and are not very well made.

baffle broke or rusted off at one of the mounting holes

Used a low profile jack to raise front of mower and placed jack stands under front axle. This allowed me to remove the two nut / carriage bolts and broken baffle from mower deck with more room to work. Replaced with new baffle plate. Now I don't have clippings blowing up in my face anymore and I get a more complete mulching of clippings. Note there is only one place to put jack under this model (craftsman) mower. Its behind muffler.
