The old belt was slipping. I replaced it with a new Hoover belt. part # 562289001/ Style 65. This belt is slipping also and does not seem to be as tight as it should. Are there different lengths of this belt?

Old belt was stretched

Removed the five screws that secure the bottom plate.
Removed the bottom plate that holds the brush in place.
Removed the brush and belt.
Removed the old belt and replaced it with the new belt.
Reinserted the brush in its original position.
Replaced the bottom plate and reinserted and tightened the five screws.

Vacuum cleaner belt broke

removed several screws to remove the bottom plate.
once removed found the broken vacuum belt and replaced
replaced bottom plate with way to many screws.
Not a very exciting repair or repair store. What really matters is that the vacuum is now running like new.
