Description:

This replacement pre-cleaner filter is supplied directly from the original manufacturer for use with Briggs and Stratton engines commonly installed on lawn and garden equipment. Its purpose is to ensure the air that goes into the engine is free of dust and other contaminants. Over time the filter may get dirty and clogged eventually requiring replacement. It is made of high-quality foam material and it is sold individually, please note the main pleated paper filter is sold separately.

Annual Replacement of Air Filter. Very dry conditions more dust and dirt than usual this year.

The unit is air blown clean. Air filter is replaced. The engine oil is replaced. The mower blade is sharpened and balanced and cleaned. Spark plug is checked and gap is checked. This machine starts on the first pull. Also premium fuel is used and carb and tank are drained for winter storage.

Broken bolt that holds muffler.

Removed broken bolt in exhaust flange. Cleaned carb, replaced spark plug, changed oil, replaced air filter. Replaced on/off switch.

Not starting, would randomly shut off

Pulled gas line, removed carb, cleaned old gasket off, put new one on. Only part couldn't find was spring to throttle, had to use old one. Fired right up,
Blades are held by 2 bolts. Use wood block to help.

Nothing wrong, just preventive maintenance

1 Spark plug remove and replace with new one. Gapped the new one at 0.020, Too simple to describe any further
2 Air filter cleaned and new pre-filter installed. Too simple to describe any further
3 Tilt mower up on its side and carefully remove cutting blade. Used impact wrench and socket.
3.1 Removed belt cover and replace belt over pulleys
3.2 Reversed procedure to replace belt cover and blade
