Product Description ?

This field assembly is an authentic replacement part sourced from the original manufacturer for use with Makita table saws. The field is one of two main parts of an electric motor. The field is a tube with magnets lining the inside, and it houses the armature. When the field is powered it creates a magnetic field allowing the armature to spin creating physical energy. The field can be overheated if the saw is overloaded. The wires in the field can burn causing a short. It is recommended to inspect the armature when servicing the field, because damage to the field can cause damage to the armature. The field is sold individually.

It was basically everything needed for a Mikita table saw motor replacement. The parts went it perfectly and the saw was up and running after about 30 minutes effort. I’ll order from eReplacments again.

Turned the table saw upside down. Removed the motor from the gear housing. Removed the brushes from the motor. Pulled the armature from out of the motor housing. Removed the baffle plate. Removed the screws hold the field. Removed the springs from around the brush holders, noting which color, went to each brush holder. Made a wiring diagram of the rest of the wires and disconnected them. Used a rubber mallet to tap on the outside of the motor housing to release the field. Reassembled in reverse order. And installed the new brushes.
