  • Works If You want to Wait to Receive
Part work as expected but took way too long to receive. I was within a couple days of cancelling the order. From order placement to receiving took 1 month.

The armature/field was shorting, due to a worn bearing

    Tool Type

    MultiTool

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    30-60 minutes

    Tools Used

Screwdriver, Nutdriver, Torx Driver, Scissors, old Bike inner tube, Camera..

    1. Remove the 2 Carbon Brushes
    2. Remove the 4 Torx Screws and the front Cap.
    3. Separate the top and bottom halves of the Shell.
    4. Take clear photos of the Armature + Field + Switch units in the shell, BEFORE removing them.
    5. Gently pull out the Armature + Field + Switch units from the shell.
    6. From an old Bike inner tube, cut 2 pieces of rubber 7mm x 30mm.
    7. Look carefully at the circular outer form of the Field unit. You will see that it is perfectly round, except for 2 FLAT areas, located 180° from each other. Glue the 2 pieces of rubber onto the 2 FLAT metal surfaces. These provide a cushion between the Field and the outer Shell to prevent vibrations.
    8. Assemble the new Armature + Field + Switch into the shell, in the same way as they were previously, referencing your photos.
    9. Close up the 2 shell halves, and secure with the 4 Torx screws.
    10. Replace the Carbon Brushes.
    11. Connect to AC Power and Test.
