    1. I had to remove bad fan by drilling many holes thru it, connecting them, and breaking the old fan in pieces to remove.
    2. Once I had it off, I could see that a 17 mm open end wrench could have locked the shaft, enabling me to simply unscrew the nut holding the fan on!
    3. I installed the new fan, tightened the nut, and have used the blower about 7 hours with no problems.

Plastic fan on leaf blower doesn't spin

Leaf blower plastic Fan is driven by a metal hex shaft. The fan is not a tight fit on the hex shaft and eventually the metal hex shaft rounds out the hex "hole" on the plastic fan. I replaced the fan, but put shrink tubing over the hex shaft to make it a tighter fit. There is no more play in the metal to plastic junction thus it should last much longer. Removing and replacing fan only involved a screwdriver and socket wrench. $10 and a little time and my $150 leaf blower is back in business. Quick and easy transaction with e replacement parts
