    1. Removed vent / heater ceiling cover
    2. Removed vent frame to which the motor and vent wheel were attached
    3. Removed motor and vent wheel from frame (need to save the two small nuts on the motor posts)
    4. Removed vent wheel from motor. This step is unnecessary, but I wanted to make sure I could install the new wheel to the new motor. Need to pull hard to get it off. Also, no need to save the small black ring securing the wheel to the motor post.
    5. Push on new wheel to motor post (post has one flat side 5o match the wheel hole
    6. Reattach motor wheel assembly to plate and reinstall entire unit into its housing.

    Whole process is easy.

I used the flat head screwdriver to pop off clamp around the hole. Then I bent the sides clamped around the attachment piece. And then I bent the fan wheel up until it popped off. Then I just slide the replacement on. Very easy. Saved me lots of money just replacing the part.

Removed old motor and exhaust fan. Saw it was a Broan 658 ventilation fan so ordered the motor and fan that showed it would fit broan 658 fan.
The new motor and fan were larger than our old motor and fan. Took some maneuvering to get the motor to fit in the smaller housing but my husband managed to bend the housing to make the parts fit.
Ventilation fan repaired now and working fine.

Bathroom exhaust fan would make a loud vibrating noise

Simple task to replacement. Slid off the metal clip the plastic fan blower wheel and then with even pressure (to keep the fan motor shaft as straight as possible) worked the old blower wheel off. Aligned the flat side of the motor shaft with the new blower wheel and pushed it flush with the end of the shaft ... just like the one I took off. Replaced the metal clip. I couldn't really see what was wrong with the old blower wheel, but the new one stopped the vibration and quieted the fan significantly. Success.
