This is an authentic OEM sourced engine cover with a starter assembly, it is specially produced Ryobi backpack blowers and vacuums. It is the starter assembly that allows a user to pull-start the unit. Any component may eventually fail and require a replacement, luckily replacing this assembly is extremely easy. It includes a plastic engine cover, starter pulley, starter spring and the pull rope with a grip, please note the hardware to secure this assembly is sold separately.

I don’t ever leave reviews, but this was worth it. Popped the base off to gain access to cover screws, took old cover off, replaced with new cover / pull cord assembly, put base back on, done. Good as new.

Removed starter housing assembly , found spring weak, could have probably replaced the spring but top had some wear, found complete housing assembly ready to bolt on, made repair simple and not having to fix rope later

1. Unscrewed and removed the housing that had the starter integrated into the housing.
2. Discarded and placed the new housing and replaced all of the screws and tightened and was back in business.

Simply unboxed ordered part and replaced over blower motor. 4 screws tighten and done. Tested OK.

1. Remove bolts on bottom of blower.
2. Remove bolts connecting housing to engine.
3. Replace broken cover with new cover.
4. Reinstall bolts attaching cover to engine.
5. Reinstall bolts on bottom of blower.
