This is a genuine OEM sourced part that is intended to be used with gas-powered trimmers from Troy-Bilt and Cub Cadet. The drive shaft is used to link the upper drive shaft and the gearcase/cutter head. This is a complete part that is pre-assembled and ready to be installed. The shaft includes the inner drive shaft, inner spacers, and lubricant. This drive shaft is priced as a single item.

    Removed old shaft and moved trimmer head to new shaft.. Moved shield to new shaft. Done!

    Had a Troy built split shaft trimmer. The button that stuck through the shaft and engaged in the slot broke off.

    Replacing the shaft of the trimmer head was easy. Removed the safety shield and removed one screw. Loosened the others and the shaft pulls right off the head. 5 minutes. SO much cheaper than buying a whole new trimmer assembly.

    Drive shaft lower tube was bad and replaced head unit noisy

    Button broken on lower shaft

    Repair was extremely easy. Just a matter of loosening a couple screws, slipping the head off the old shaft then putting it on the new shaft. I switched the cutting guard to the new shaft and was ready to go. Part fits and works as well as the original equipment.
