This is the discharge valve assembly for a variety of pumps. This OEM valve assembly does not come with the pump head, but features a retaining clip, spring, valve disc and valve bumper, all of which measure approximately 1-inch in diameter. Over time, valves can collect debris or corrode, and with normal wear and tear, they can get damaged, leak, or restrict the flow of fluid through the pump. If your pump is leaking on/around the discharge valve, or if the pump has higher pressure or a low flow rate, this discharge valve would be worth inspecting to see if it needs replacing. Replacing this assembly is easy and requires you to first power off the pump and disconnect the pump head and gasket. You can then remove the old assembly and install the new one. It is recommended that you replace the gasket at this juncture as well, but it is not mandatory. With the new assembly installed, reinstall the pump head and test your pump.
