| This is a genuine OEM part which is made for use with Husqvarna, Poulan, and Jonsered snowblowers. It is the cable that engages the deflector. Over time it may wear out or get damaged eventually requiring a replacement. Make sure to refer to the owner's manual and the appropriate diagrams for your model to ensure the correct repair procedure. Note, this high-quality rubber insulated deflector cable is sold individually. A screwdriver and pliers might be needed to replace this component. |

Had allowed deflector cable to contact muffler which melted the cable housing
I had to remove part of the lever actuator and locking mechanism to insert the end of the cable and then reapply the locking circlip. Attaching the cable at the deflector end was straight forward. Be sure to check that the cable does not come into contact with the muffler by directing the discharge chute both far left and far right before starting the engine.

Deflector cable broke
Fastened new cable into same path as old one had occupied. Added one additional fastener to reduce cable flexing.

Cable broke at the chute attachment point.
Waited two weeks for the cable to arrive.
Removed the bolt holding the old cable end.
Cut the cable ties.
Removed the control shroud.
Disconnected the old cable from the control stick.
Reversed the process and cable-tied the new cable in-place.
Removed the bolt holding the old cable end.
