Ridgid air compressor would not hold pressure
After watching YouTube, I realized that my Ridgid air compressor could be repaired. After taking off the shroud and removing the head, it was obvious the gasket was leaking. eReplacement parts had great diagrams and instructions. The part arrived quickly and was easy to install. I now have a working air compressor again. Thanks. Mick

Reed valve failure
Remove shroud with 4 phillips screws, 4 allen screws to remove cylinder head , remove reed valves with phillips screwdriver, scrape off old gaskets, replace reed valves, replace gaskets, reassemble cylinder head, reapply shroud. (broken piece of reed valve was lodged in check valve at air tank and had to be removed by removing check valve and shaking out broken piece.) Otherwise easy straightforward repair.

The check valve internal seal broke apart, causing air pressure to act like it was filling tanks in about 10 seconds then shutting off compressor, but in reality the air pressure was pushing back agains
1. Remove tube that connects head to check valve, also remove tube from regulator to check valve, remove check valve from tank to inspect internal parts of valve, test condition of valve by blowing into large port of valve while pushing and releasing stem. If working good, problem may be in area of motor field or capacitors.
2. Installed new check valve and needed to slightly bend both tubes for alignment for threading of tube nuts, takes just a little finesse.
3. After removing dust cover, unscrew Allen head bolts which may seem frozen due to thread locker sealant from factory, pull cylinder, remove Allen screw on top of piston
