This genuine manufacturer approved replacement carbon brush is designed for use with Craftsman grinders. This assembly includes one (1) carbon brush with a lead wire attached. Please note the spring and brush holder are sold separately.
Due to constant with contact with armature brushes will gradually wear down and will require replacement. It is advised to replace both brushes at the same type.
You would need a screwdriver to complete this job.
• Make sure the unit is unplugged
• Remove screws holding the housing together
• Remove housing to gain access to brush holders
• Remove old brush and install the new one in the brush holder
• Re-assemble housing and test the tool

2. Separated housing and removed armature.
3. Used 600 grit sand paper to clean commutator contacts.
4. Removed old brushes and slid new brushes in brush holders.
5. Used compressed air and blew out any debris.
6. Applied some wheel bearing grease to the gearing.
7. Reassembled.
Tool was Craftsman 4 1/2" angle grinder 16 years old.
on-off slide switch woul not stay latched, had to be held on at all times
