Tools Used
Screwdriver, Torx t10 and a small flathead. Possibly wire strippers
Parts Used
1. Obviously I unplugged the cord from its power source.
2. Remove the 7 or 8 torx screws from the handle assembly.
3. Use tiny screwdriver to pry open the trigger switch. Pay attention to where the replacement wires are being routed to and their routing through the handle.
4. Remove original wires from switch and replace with new. May need to strip the new wire. The switch holds the wires in with a finicky spring design. Make sure that you have clean contact on the new wires.
There are videos available on the YouTube that shows this general process as well.
5. Reassemble handle assembly.
6. Verify repair.

Tools Used
Screwdriver, Socket set, Small eyeglass size driver, knife
Parts Used
This cord replacement was for a sawzall not an impact hammer but web page forces me to make the selection above.
1: Needed star shaped driver to remove access cover on sawzall to access trigger box.
2: Trigger box was kind of difficult to open to access the old wires from old cord. Needed a small eyeglass screwdriver to pry lid off plastic box without breaking.
3: Connected new cord wires orienting them by color (black & white. Noticed new wires were copper strands instead of solid wire (original) so they were tricky to insert into the clip. Used my knife to strip the wire twist the copper strands and insert them into place in a clip designed for a solid wire.
4: Reassembled and tested. It works!
