I removed the back handle of the drill, then removed the cord wires and removed the cord relief. I then slid the cord relief on the new cord and connected the wires. I then made sure no wires would get pinched when I put on the back handle. I then put the back handle on. Done

Power cord cut - Milwaukee 0299-20 Heavy Duty 1/2 inch drill

Edward - January 15, 2016
Tool Type

Electric Drill

Difficulty

Medium

Time

15-30 minutes

Tools Used

Screwdriver, Pliers

I removed all torx screws and opened the handle of the drill. I removed wires from the damaged cord from the drill, white wire (spade connector), black wire (loosen the small screw holding it in place) and the green wire (another spade connector) and attached the wires of the replacement cord to their respective terminals.

The green wire connection is about a half inch inside the body of the drill and was difficult to replace. I ended up using a set of very narrow needle nose pliers to get it partly attached and the tip of a small screwdriver to seat it fully on the connection.

I reassembled the handle and function tested. All worked fine.
