Product Description ?

  • Cord guards, also called cord protectors, are designed to slide onto and fit securely at the end of your cord, where its firm rubber will protect the base of the cord from getting bent and pinched, which can expose the wires and become a safety hazard.
  • This cord guard will fit cords for the tools listed under the “Compatible Tools” listing. It is not guaranteed to fit any other cords.

Of course, make sure the tool is not plugged in. Turn the tool on its' side exposing the five screws that keep the removable handle piece attached. After removing the screws, remove the plastic piece to expose the trigger mechanism and wiring. Carefully remove the screws that hold the black, white, and ground wires to the trigger mechanism and motor. Carefully take loose the now-disconnected power cord, removing the old, worn out cord guard by slipping it over the end of the of the cord. Take the ends of the wires and feed them through the small end of the new cord guard. Push the new cord guard .back out of your way for a moment. Reattach the wires for the trigger mechanism and motor. Now slide the cord guard back toward the saw and route the wire and cord as before MAKING SURE TO PUT THE END OF THE NEW CORD GUARD INTO ITS SLOT IN THE HANDLE BASE. Now replace the plastic handle piece. and insert and tighten the screws. Plug in and test the trigger to make sure your tool works as before.
