This is a genuine Husqvarna part for use with Lawn Mowers. The drive control engages the gear case to drive the lawn mower. The most common reason for replacing the drive control is if it is broken, causing the brake to not release even when the lever is pressed. This part is sold individually. The tool that you will need to replace the drive control is pliers.

Drive Control Cable 9614500009 Can this cable be lengthened even slightly? I know there is some adjustment on the turnbuckle end; is there any adjustment on the transmission end?? My cable is only about 1/4" too short to attach to the transmission. Thank you - jn

Hi Jim and thank you for contacting us. No cables cannot be lengthened. There are 3 different models of this lawn mower which use 2 different cables. There is the Husqvarna HU700F (2012-11)(96145000900) which uses Cable Part Number: 579708909 and both the Husqvarna HU700F (2012-01)(96145000601) and Husqvarna HU700F (2011-11)(96145000600) uses Cable Part Number: 532447586. Removed the plastic housing on top by left front tire and then removed a few small screws on bracket holding the cable and detached cable, be patient you can do this!
