Questions & Answers for Collect Box Kit

Part Number:10342-E400A, what is this for
Mike asked on 2022-03-15
Hello Mike, Thank you for the question. Collector Box Assembly is made to carry the gas over from each burner to ensure that each burner will light quickly and safely. Also the ignition wires are designed to clip right into the collector box assembly, allowing each burner to have its own designated sparker. If you need help placing an order, customer service is open 7 days a week. Please feel free to give us a call. We look forward to hearing from you!

I started by removing the grates and then the heat plates in the BBQ. Then I vacuumed out all of the rusty metal and debris that had flaked off and fell into the bottom of the grill. This would have been a 15 minute repair had the screws that hold the end of the burners in place weren't corroded in place. The heads of the screws stripped out so I had to drill them off. Once the screw heads were removed the burners came right out along with the remains of the collection box. A little more cleaning to removed all the rusty metal and drilling debris and on to installation. The burners slid through the collection box and then slid into the gas line on the ends of the control knobs. I didn't bother trying to bolt the new burners in place as that would have required more drilling and thread tapping the holes. The burners shouldn't go anywhere as there is very little room for them to move. A quick test fire to make sure everything was functioning properly and then reinstall the heat plates and grates. The BBQ is now working perfectly again!
I probably didn't need to replace the burners as they looked decent when I removed them, I saved them for possible reuse latter on. For the cost I thought it was worth it just to be sure everything was perfect and they had to come out to replace the collection box anyway.
