The blade clutch cable connects the mower engagement lever to the idler arm on the mower deck and allows you to engage and disengage the blades. The most common reason for replacing the cable is if it is damaged, causing the mower blades to not engage. The tool that you will need to replace the blade clutch cable 3/8” socket, 1/4” socket, and pliers.

2, Removed the old cable part. Mostly removing cotter pins and disconnecting cable where it was attached.
3. Attached the lower end of the cable to the idler pulley that runs the mower blades.
4, Threaded cable through mower deck attachments and connected it to a connect point on the deck.
5. Threaded the cable up through the chassis and attached it to the dashboard lever.
I did not want to take the mower apart, just wanted to remove the old cable and replace it. Some of the work was difficult and some areas were hard to reach. Skinned a couple of knuckles. No special instructions, Just pay attention when you remove the old cable.
