Broken Clamshell

Robert - August 24, 2017
Tool Type

Cordless Drill

Difficulty

Hard

Time

1-2 hours

Tools Used

, Torx wrench and dental tool with hook

The wires coming off the forward/reverse switch are tricky to get right or the switch will bind and not operate properly. There are slots, very hard to see, in each side of the clamshell that the switch wires MUST run through. Just putting the two halves together does not do it. I needed to use a little hooked dental tool to go in through the battery opening to work the wires into the grooves/slots to get the shells to close straight enough for the switch to not bind. If you can look up their before you take the old one off you can see what I mean.
