    Clamp that blade
Perfect fit at decent price. Shipping time good but pricing a little on the high side (shipping). Item could have been mailed in envelope for .50 instead of 5.95.

I lost the screw that locks the blade in place on my Bosch jig saw. The hardest part of the repair was locating the specific replacement. Thank you ereplacementparts.com. The lock screw is inserted in an opening in the handle over the the reciprocating shaft that holds the blades. A long thin screw driver is supplied with the jig saw for the purpose of changing blades.

There were 2 repairs: 1. The old clamp screw was not working well. Replacing the clamp screw took about 10 minutes. 2. The Governor had failed so the saw only worked at full speed. I looked at some

    Paul - April 15, 2024
    Tool Type

    Jig saw

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    30-60 minutes

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Pliers

Both repairs required taking off the handle. The clamp screw backed out as expected but it didn't just fall out, I had to take the handle off and remove the old screw which had gone crooked inside the assembly. Putting in the new screw was trivial and it works well.

Replacing the governor required removing the handle and disassembling the handle to get at the old governor. I had some trouble getting the 2 halves of the handle apart, but eventually succeeded. After that it was easy: Just unplug 3 wires, pull out the old governor, put in the new governor, plug the 3 wires back in. Reassemble the handle then reattach the handle to the saw.
