Remove the chain drive cover, allen bolt in center of cover, 4 bolts on 2 small cover plates inboard bottom of chain cover. There are 2 dowel pins on the top of cover at each corner, just pull straight out and the cover will slide off the pins.

Looking at the chain drives the small sprocket from the gearbox is the driver, its chain runs up to drive a double sprocket on the outfeed roller. There is no tensioner on this chain and the chain is loose, bad design. The chain is always trying to hop a tooth and when the original chain stretches a little it does try, breaking the teeth on that sprocket. I ordered both the small drive sprocket and the double sprocket for the rear outfeed roll as well as both chains. I really only needed the double sprocket and that chain. The second sprocket on the rear outfeed's double sprocket runs the infeed roll's single large sprocket. That chain has a tensioner and was undamaged. I am currently trying to retrofit an idler on the rear drive chain, the machine designer needs a slap on the back of the head. I have an idler in the Red Green pile that I'll try first, failing that, take a look at motorized bicycle chain idlers. The small drive sprocket had some rust and didn't come off well. I tried a pickle fork and bertha screwdriver but shattered the pot metal sprocket, it is more fragile than it appears. I had ordered a new one so not a problem but that was not the way to remove a stuck sprocket. You will need a new key, the original sprocket has a key cast in, the repair sprocket and the driveshaft have a machined keyway. By and large a good machine worth repairing, this one has served well for 20 years at my little sawmill, quite a few feet of lumber has been through it.
