Description:

This is a genuine replacement part sourced from the original manufacturer for use with backpack blowers. The ignition module creates an electric charge as the magnet on the flywheel passes the module. The electric charge is sent to the spark plug that ignites the air/fuel mix in the combustion chamber. This ignition module is available as an individual replacement part, please see model diagram for associative parts.

Variety in RPMs once warm

Remove the plastic back brace. Remove back 2 screws for gas tank to slide out of the way. Ignition coil cover comes off with 1 screw and you may need to pry off plastic cover. You'll also need to splice in the plug wire to the plug boot. I didn't do this but it probably would be a good idea to replace the boot as well. If they sell the module with the plug boot , that would be ideal - not having to splice. I slopes with a double lug and heat shrink. I did this repair along with replacing the fuel filter and bent filter. Blower runs like new.

what is the resistance or ohms on a new ignition coil? how do I know if the ignition coil is bad?

I apologize that I don't have the specs you are looking for on the A415000000 ignition coil assembly. We do have an article on How to Install an Ignition Coil on a Lawn Trimmer. Although this is about a trimmer coil. It does have a section on how to test your coil.

Question: Ignition Coil Setting

Can you tell me the procedure for setting the ignition coil gap on a eb633rt blower.

Hi hydroross,

The proper gap for the EB633 blower is .020" or 0.5mm. To set the gap you will need a plastic or paper spacer that is the proper thickness. Most hobby shops carry sheet styrene in various thicknesses. You could easily cut a spacer out of a piece of styrene.

Install the coil but leave the mounting screws loose. Turn the flywheel so that the magnets on the flywheel line up with the coil. Insert the spacer between the coil and the magnets. Now tighten up the screws and you are good to go!
