Mower engine revved up and down on it's own and gradually got to where it wouldn't rev up at all.
After checking governor for proper operation and that a spark was indeed there at all times, I then checked for fuel delivery. The primer bulb was working properly but nothing after that seemed to work right. I determined then that the carburetor was at fault.

Replacing it was simple enough. I followed the directions that came with the new carburetor and parts kit. Main thing to remember is to CLEAN every thing good before installing. This means to clean all you can before any dis-assembly begins. Then clean surfaces and parts that will be going back on. I found it quite advantageous to take the cover with the rope starter together off the top of the engine first. ( Three bolts is all that holds it on ) That puts everything in the clear and makes it so much easier to work on the rest.

Make sure the diagram and carburetor main gasket are installed in the right order.
