Honda GC160, would ONLY run when CHOKE was on,
My Honda GC160 5hp for my pressure washer was left outside under a deck all winter.
When I went to start it , it took a while, but once stared would only run whit the choke on, as soon as I pushed the choke back in , it would die. Main Carb circuit/jet plugged, or gas problem from sitting all winter. I pulled the fuel bowl, a little gunk in it , cleaned, flushed, air pressure dried, reassembled. Still same problem ! I did this 4 times, even unscrewing and blowing out the main jet with compressed air from my compressor. Still the same !!! a little better ,It would run until the choke was 1/2 way back in. BUT , still not good enough for pressure washing. So I did a search ,I found others had this problem, they changed the carburetor and problem gone. So I then ordered the carburetor , and gaskets and plastic insulator form ereplacements. Good Price ! Quick Shipping !
Once it arrived I pulled the parts out , well wrapped, No bent gaskets !!! , You will have to remove the fuel tank, drain it into a container, not into the gravel or drive and have it run down the sewer. I then replaced the carburetor on the motor, making sure to replace the gaskets, all it takes is a 10mm socket and a long screwdriver to hold the Plastic Insulator and gaskets in place, as you install the bolts that hold it all together. it took about 20 minutes for me, but like I said I had done it 4 times the week before. After it was installed it started on the 5th pull and has been a 1 or 2 pull motor ever since. Don't mess around trying to clean the old carb, the passages are just too small, The price and quality of the new was great.
Hats off to you guys ! Thank You
RJH

Couple of gaskets needed replaced so decided to do all.
This was a log splitter that would only run with choke full open. Tried couple of things on forums with no luck. When I pulled the carburetor to clean, I found couple of gaskets in bad shape & air filter casing bolted to carb was cracked so figured air was being sucked in around/thru gaskets/casing causing engine to run having too much air mixture. All good now. Was difficult to get all gaskets on at one time by slowly pushing the 2 retaining bolts thru as each gasket would be inserted in its place. Very little room to work in. Using your expanded diagrams made sure I had each gasket in correct position. Was amazed at your low prices! Great website!

Replaced carb on tiller 5 HP Honda engine. Was back firing and low power.
Found a couple of videos to look at before doing the repair. Took my time. Removed fuel tank. Drained fuel tank. Removed air box and filter. Removed Carb. Linkage was a bit tricky but it turned out well. Hoses removed fairly easy. Also replaced fuel filter and air filter. All went back together well. Also put in new spark plug and changed oil. Fresh gas and ready to go. A few pulls to get started as the carb was dry. Runs great. Just be careful not to bend linkage or stretch springs.

Replaced carburetor on my log splitter.
1. Remove the air filter and cover. 2. Remove the rubber hose to the filter back cover. 3. Turn off fuel flow and remove fuel hose to the carburetor. 4. Remove the mounting bolts in the air filters back cover, note two of these bolts also are the carburetor's mounting bolts. 5. Once the mounting bolts are out tilt the bottom of the carburetor up to allow spring and the two rods to be removed from the carburetor. 6. Now reinstall the new carburetor and new gaskets by reversing the removal procedure.

Honda GCV160 surging lawn mower
Removed old carburetor and replaced with new one. Lawn mower runs great now and engine does not surge anymore. Took a look at a YouTube video on cleaning the carburetor for reference. Pretty easy to do even if you do not know much about small engines.

Air cleaner case had cracked at the snaps.
Pulled old case off. I studied the on line video which was very helpful. On the video he does the repair by himself. I strongly suggest a second pair of hands that can hold the assembly together as you slip on the gaskets, governor etc.

Lawnmower would run for a minute then shutdown, missing aircleaner cover and chute.
I was doing a job for a customer of mine that involved cleaning out their shed, and there was this push mower in there that has seen better days. It was a Craftsman, but had a Honda motor on it. Reliability is what I saw. So getting the mower for free was the best part. Brought it back to my workshop, and started going through it. Changed the oil, spark plug, cleaned the air filter, fresh gas. It fired right up but was running terribly. My first thought was the normal ethanol problem, gummed up the plastic internals of the carburetor. From experience, it's not even worth the trouble of tearing it apart. The new replacement carburetor is $17, throwing some fresh gaskets, a new air filter, chute, and the missing air filter cover came to about $60. Runs like a top. Sharpened the blade, basically a brand new mower, for $60.

XR2625 Pressure washer hasn't run for 2 years. Left untreated gas in it. OOPS!
1. Removed air cleaner assembly.
2. Disconnected carburetor linkage.
3. Removed carburetor.
4. Installed new carburetor and gasket.
5. Changed engine oil.
6. Installed new spark plug.
7. Blew out nearly new air cleaner element.
8. Filled gas tank with Stabil treated gasoline.
9. Started engine (took a few pulls) and was very surprised at how strong the engine ran.

I don't think this guy has run this well even when new. It now starts on the first pull! I use a 15" surface cleaner in addition to the wand that didn't work very well either, but now it does a great job! So well, in fact, that my wife & I spent 10 hours over the week-end cleaning all of the concrete around our house as well as anything else that got in the way! (Pots, planters, lawn furniture, walls, motorcycle, lawn mower, edger, mailbox, trailer, wheel barrows, trash cans, neighbor's wife, etc) What a pleasure to have this 2005 power washer run so well!
