Product Information
Description:
This genuine replacement part is designed for use with Troy-Bilt trimmers. It is sourced from original equipment manufacturer and it is sold individually. The purpose of this part is to mix air and gas before the fuel mix goes to the engine. If the engine won\\\'t start and the tank is full of fresh fuel, test the carburetor by removing the air filter and pouring about a teaspoon of fuel into the carburetor. Pull the starter rope. If the engine starts and then quickly dies, the carburetor is likely the problem. To complete this repair you would need a screwdriver. |

Trimmer would not stay running anytime I would increase the throttle. I had previously replaced the fuel line, filter and fuel and that didn't resolve the problem.
1. Removed all the external plastic housing pieces.
2. Removed the air filter.
3. Removed the fuel tank and hoses.
4. Removed the carburetor.
5. Cleaned all gasket surfaces.
6. Installed the new carburetor and gaskets.
7. Reinstalled all exterior parts in the proper order for assembly.
8. Replaced the spark plug as the last step.
9. Fired on the first pull and runs like it's a brand new machine.

Old carburetor was leaking air through the rotary cylinder and out the top.
Took off the engine cover, (if needed to access the fuel delivery components) air box, fuel lines, remember where the fuel line are place on the carb. throttle cable, then simply repeated the steps backwards with the new carburetor. (make sure to be careful, as the intake gasket may be stuck on the carb, so you don't tear it)
