Description:
Genuine OEM replacement
This brush is sold individually, 2 are needed for most every electric power tool
It is always best to replace both brushes, even if only one is worn.

Worn brushes frequently are the cause behind a motor running poorly.
Replacing brushes can fix a motor that’s operating intermittently.
New brushes can restore a motor’s electric braking.

Carbon brushes are one of the most commonly replaced power tool parts. This is because carbon brushes are wear items, meaning that through friction and use they will gradually wear away until they need replacing. Worn brushes are a common causes of intermittent motor function, reduced electric braking and reduced motor power. A worn-out brush will often be worn down near to the wire lead and can be cracked, pitted, or burned. When replacing carbon brushes, be sure to inspect your armature for burns, cracks, or other damage which can indicate larger motor problems.

Sparks flew out of the air vents near the handle and it stopped running
I remover the colored plastic caps that hold the brushes in. There is one on each side of the saw just in front of the handle. I pulled out the old brushes one at a time and pushed each new brush in. It is a very simple job to do. Just find the colored plastic caps that hold the brush in (one on each side near the handle) . Remove the cap, use a small tool (maybe a small screw driver) to start pulling the brush out. Once it has started out where you can get hold of it with your fingers, just gently pull it out and push the new one in. It will only fit one way. Put the plastic cap back on and then repeat the process on the other side.

Used saw purchased at garage sale with parts missing
1. Inspect, evaluate and assess item to be repaired.
2. Once I felt confident the saw was worthy of repair, I went to my computer.
3. Of course I went directly to eReplacementParts.com with my model number in hand.
4. Utilizing their user-friendly site, I was able to locate my parts in short order,
5. After a few quick key-strokes, I selected my form of payment and completed my order.
6. In what seemed like record time, my parts were in my shop and ready to be installed.
7. With the DeWalt Reciprocating Saw, the brushes are easily accessible. Since the parts were completely missing, all it required was inserting the new brush and screwing in the new cap.
8. Once repairs were completed I plugged the unit into an outlet and it worked like new.
