Remove from power source. Loosen retaining nuts on blade holding housing! Remove old blades and inspect the housing for burrs and any uneven surface! Clean housing chamber and reinstall blade housing. I adjusted the blade depth allen set screws to the lowest point . Insert the blades into the housing and tightened the blade retention nuts till they are just snug! Take a straight edge and adjust the blade to the desired cutting depth! Tightened the blade retention nuts evenly and tightly. Plug in the power and check for correct cutting height of blades. Be careful when tightening the blades so as not to place an uneven pressure on them!

Blades were worn on my electric hand planer

Pretty basic although I had the instruction manual that came with my planer. Two set screws loosen the housing of the unit and the base then separates exposing the blades. Using the Allen wrench that came with the unit, I loosened each screw and removed worn blades. Putting new blades back in was easy, however these blades are extremely sharp so caution should be exercised. Put the new blades in, tighten the nuts and then putting the unit back together was just a reverse of the earlier process.
