This is a KitchenAid original part. The Attachment Hub is made from metal and is chrome plated. This part includes the hinge and the retaining ring that attaches to the front of the Motor Housing. It is common for this part to become loose with use. This part can be tricky to replace as it is held on with tension. Once the old part is removed, three pairs of ridges are visible. These ridges mate with the ridges on the retaining ring. With a hammer, gently tap the retaining ring into place. If the retaining ring slips off it is recommended to use a couple of small drops of super glue on each pair of ridges.
