  • Poor parts identification by craftsman.
Finding this part for a craftsman snow blower was almost impossible until I stumbled upon your website which stated that this part is used on both Craftsman snowblowers and lawnmowers. Nothing in the snowblower manual named this part or identified it. A diagram somewhat pictures it, but does not give it a part number or anything. Thank god I came across it on your site.

The original cable clamp broke after only a couple of years since it was made of plastic, as most things are these days.

When I tightened the bolt which held the clamp onto the handle, I noticed that the outside legs of the clamp went beyond just contacting the handle as they were molded for and this would have caused premature failure again. I then placed a spacer on the bolt, between the clamp and the handle before tightening down the bolt. This caused the outside legs to contact the handle at the right place and did not cause the legs to spread out. By doing this, I decreased the tension on the outside legs and hopefully the clamp will last longer than the original. Otherwise, the part was exactly like the original and went right into place,

Screwed off the old cracked plastic part lined up the cable wires and put the nut and bolt back on, Done. A little tough holding the nut and bolt and keeping the cables in the right place. It's like you could use a extra hand
