Bumper no longer worked. Did not extend far enough out, end worn out.
Unscrew the old one. Clean out the grass and dirt. Screw the new Bumper in.
Test the bumper. It took several bumps before it worked. It might be better
to clean out the entire trimmer head.
The only difficulty was grasping the old bumper to unscrew it. Wasn't much left of the old one.

Ryobi Bump Head Knob Assembly and Reel & Line assembly was worn out. Just needed new parts.
Just replaced the parts that I ordered and I was back in business with my electric Ryobi weed eater/edger. I've ordered these replacement parts before and have always been very pleased.

One of a few parts still available for my ancient string trimmer. With any luck I'll get a few more years out of it.

bump stop on a vintage dual line trimmer
I have had this Ryobi trimmer since 1998, keep it clean and maintained and it keep on going, dual line so it is super strong, made the old craftsman way, built to last. EReplacement parts has always had the replacement bump stop part that naturally wears from bumping it to auto feed line. I can say when I received this replacement part from you I looked at it and thought "Oh no this won't work, this isn't the same" then tried it and it worked, went in easily. I have to admit I bowed my head and said to myself I am humbled you were right with the new style replacement part. You always deliver what I need, speedy delivery, great pricing, I tell friends your place is the place to go. You have an excellent database search for compatible parts, very well organized easy to navigate. Thank you, it's nice to find a great go-to site that gets the job done!
