Product Description ?

It is a genuine item which is supplied directly from the original equipment manufacturer for use with Weed Eater trimmers. The purge bulb allows a user to pump the fuel into the carburetor, once it is full the excess fuel is sent back to the tank through the return line. Keep in mind this high-quality item is sold individually, it includes a durable rubber bulb with a metal shaft.

For this unit you just remove a screw on the other end of the shaft the bulb is attached to and swap shaft and all out. Be careful there is a plastic piece and a spring that slides off the shaft and must be placed on new unit. This type of primer is not as easy or as cheap as just replacing the bulbs on the earlier models.

Primer Bulb Replacement

1. Remove air filter housing cover (by hand)
2. Remove air filter media (by hand)
3. Remove fuel lines with pliers
4. Remove the small screw from the bottom of the primer tube assembly
5. Remove the primer bulb tube assembly.
6. Replace in reverse order.

Trimmer fuel tank lines and bulb broke.

1. Emptied the fuel tank.
2. Unscrewed the fuel tank with a hex key and pull out the broken lines from where they're connected.
3. Replaced the old fuel tank with the new one without connecting the fuel lines.
4. Unscrewed the purge with a screwdriver and pull out the fuel lines from where they're connected.
5. Replaced the old bulb with the new one making sure the spring and the rubber washer was in the right place.
6. Ultimately, connected the fuel lines where they're supposed to be.

Removed the carburetor
Took off the old Bulb, Purge
Installed new Bulb, Purge and reinstalled carburetor.
Was in the yard working in 15 minutes

P.S. Always check your fuel lines and purge bulb for cracks and splits.
