I looked for videos on the internet for possible causes and solutions to my problem with my table saw motor. I found these very helpful as well as suggestions on your website. I took a chance that it was one or both of the brush and spring assemblies. And although they seemed a bit expensive at over $17 bucks a pop, I was relieved to find they solved the problem. My Ryobi portable table saw with fold up stand and wheels is an oldie but still a goody, and as a residential remodeling contractor, I use it often. These parts also saved me over $600.00 I was about to fork over for a new one of a different brand.
Special Instructions: If you are a novice, watch a couple videos of similar repairs. Just make sure the carbon "brush" (not really a brush) and the spring plate are seated properly as you screw in the cap that holds the two in position.

I removed the brush caps with a screwdriver and set them aside. Then I removed the worn brushes from the brush holders and blew out the motor with compressed air. I then inserted the new brushes into the holders and screwed the brush caps back in place.
