This is a genuine manufacturer approved replacement part is made for use with Hitachi saws. This is a special bolt which is sold individually. This bolt has a square area under its head which allows it to stay secure while the lock nut is tightened. To replace this bolt you would need a wrench.

Repair was very easy using this part from eReplacementParts.com
1. Remove the blade arbor bolt and blade
2. Remove outer blade cover
3. Remove the spring loaded blade guard and spring
4. Remove the damaged saw shoe adjustment bolt and replace with new OEM part. (Bolt M6x20)
Reassemble in the reverse order as disassembly.
5. Readjust the saw shoe adjusting lever to return the saw to factory tightness as needed.

Both adjustment holding bolts were broken: one for depth of cut adjustment, and one for cutting angle.

2. Removed saw base plate
3. Removed saw blade
4. Disconnected spring and removed blade protective shield
5. Removed second broken bolt
6. Replaced broken bolts
7. Reassembled in reverse order
(note: I had ordered one replacement bolt, but discovered I needed two. Bought a 65 cent metric carriage bolt at Ace that may prove to be even better than the original.)

7. Reassembled in reverse order

Blade depth adjustment bolt broke

I had to remove the blade, and the blade guard in order to remove the adjustment bolt. The screws that hold the blade guard on are soft metal, maybe brass? So use the right size screw driver and be careful. I had to replace one I stripped out the phillips head on. (This was a Hitachi circular saw.) Once I had the old bolt removed and the new one in, I reinstalled the blade guard and then the blade. The Clamp lever had threaded holes in it for set screws. I bought two set screws at the hardware store, along with the right allen wrench. I was almost tempted to buy a reconditioned saw for $50, but I couldn't justify throwing out a functioning saw.
