Question: Grass Bag

My problem is that the grass bag catcher allows a lot of cut grass to blow right back at me when in mowing the lawn. I bought this Bolens from my neighbor and it's like brand new. It had been sitting in his shed for years unused. I de-rusted the blade and it cuts great, however, it blows a lot of grass back at me, and its getting on my nerves. Is there any suggestions for me? Has anybody else had this problem? This bag is brand spanking new too! I'm desperate!

Hello Mattb,

I'm thinking it could be a few items for you to look at. First locate your model number because some of the items are different depending on the model you have. Look to make sure you have the rear baffle, trail shield and rear discharge door and they are all working properly. If you want to post your model number maybe we can helps with this.

I have this same problem. I have a Briggs and Stratton Yard Machine 21in chut. Model 11a-429r 729 693-531. I have tried to empty the bag as often as possible. The grass blows out the top where the handle for the frame is that you lift off the mower when you need to empty the bag. Is it the frame or the bag? Everything else works properly.
