The throttle control bar broke and the throttle cable was rusted and crimped to where it was not moving through its protective rubber cover.
1) Popped the blade control into the existing holes on the lawnmower handle.
2) With a wrench, take off cover for throttle control.
3) Unhook the cable from the handle, the plate by the control (by squeezing the inside piece you can pull it through), and finally from the throttle control itself.
4) Put new cable on, hook it through the throttle control and the blade control holes, and secure it.
5) Replace cover and test.

Hand Safety Bar broke after many years of use at cable connection point
I had the mower serial number and documentation, but since the mower was about 13 years old, eReplacementParts was the ONLY place I could find this old part on the internet, including the manufacturer's site. The price was low, and I figured when I clicked on the 'add to cart' button that I would get a message 'not available', but it was available. And after I ordered, the part was delivered in about 3 days! Perfect fit, exact replacement, great bargain, fast shipment, what's not to like about this site?

    Wrong Part - Not good
I'll ordered this part thinking this would be the right item for my craftsman lawn mower. I searched the part # and this what came up. When I the item was delivered, I knew off the bat the part was wrong. My lawn mower control level bar is slanted and not straight like this one. I spoke with the Rep and I ordered another one. I hope this one is correct. If not, I'm going to be really pissed off. This is not good at all.
