Question: SKILsaw Blace Clamp Replacement

jhaldeman55

How do I replace the Blade Clamp on SKIL saw 9215?
WJA
Hello jhaldeman55,

The Pin that comes with the 2610938752 Blade Clamp. Needs to be pressed or tapped in on the back side of the clamp. Then the clamp is secured to the blade shaft by the screw and lock washer.
Question: Skil Router

Is the blade clamp the clamp I need to hold the motor still while changing the router bite?
Question: Skil 9215 Spits Out Blades

thatguy

Well, the subject heading says it all. The saw was working fine when I was cutting apart pallets with nails in them. Then when I started using it again on the same materials, the blade flew out and smacked me on the face. good thing I was wearing safety glasses- I just have a cut lip. I am using Irwin blades and it appears the blade is locked in until I apply pressure to cut and then the blade shoots out. I read that the holes on off brand blades may need to be enlarged to engage the lock, but these same blades were working. The clamp area appears to be clean. Could I get away with just driving the pin in a little further while waiting on replacement blade clamp and pin? Thanks!
