Blade fell off. Two screws sheared off. Difficult or impossible to grip and remove.

    Larry - May 13, 2016
    Tool Type

    Reciprocating Saw

    Difficulty

    Medium

    Time

    1-2 hours

    Tools Used

    Screwdriver, Specialty security driver

Had to use a special star security driver to open the saw case. Unnecessary security-head screws were used instead of simple Phillips heads. Fortunately, I already had such a driver.
New part did not come with screws, and part description did not include such information. This required a trip to the hardware store for 3mm machine screws. I used a plain steel screw to cut the threads, then 2 stainless steel screws to fasten the clamp to the arm. Not difficult.
