Description:
| This genuine replacement 22" blade is sourced directly from the original equipment manufacturer for use with Craftsman lawn mowers. It provides an identical replacement for a missing or a faulty component that was installed on a new unit. Mulching blades are designed to circulate the grass longer so it can be cut into smaller pieces. This makes your grass clippings better as mulch since the smaller clippings will decompose more quickly, releasing their nutrients into the soil. Chipped \ Dented blade
Very easy replacement, all you need is a socket wrench and block of wood. Turn the mower on it's side, place wood block between blade and frame to keep the blade from spinning. Remove lock nut, remove old blade. Slip new blade on and affix with nut.

Worn blade, missing mulcher plate and spring hinge
Made sure the blade was the correct replacement for the mower. It was a perfect fit! Touched up the new blade to sharpen the edge with a hand file. Removed the old blade with a socket wrench and replaced with the new one.
Pulled the hinge pin out with a pliers. Positioned the hinge spring and mulch plate prior to insertion of the hinge pin. Pushed the hinge pin in.
Job done!

Blade was in bad shape from hitting some rocks. Drive wheels were inspected and showed wear and tare. Ordered new ones to have on hand for future replacement.

Old blade was blunt and worn out
Raised the lawn mower onto axle stands and removed the central nut holding the blade in place. Replaced the blade with the new one and refitted the nut making sure the new blade was seated properly.
