The belt and the idler pulley were worn out.
Removed the cover, the old belt, and the pulley. Installed the new parts and replaced the cover.

Belt broke and pulley "burned" up
Followed the instructions in the manual - removed the 6 machine screws holding the plastic housing on. Removed the 4 bolts on top of the machine. Removed the V-Pulley. Installed the belt and did everything in reverse order. Works like a champ.
