Product Description ?

This is a genuine OEM replacement part, it is sold individually.
This Ball Bearing is sealed on both sides.

  • Ball bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts. The balls or rollers take the load and spin, distributing the weight evenly while the minimal contact area of the ball reduces friction.
  • This reduces wear on the tool and allows it to run smoothly.
  • Bearings experience constant wear when the tool is in operation from pressure, heat, vibration and friction. Because of this, many Bearings need periodic maintenance or replacement.

Bad bearings and a broken spindle Lock

Remove the top cap of the trimmer. Remove the brushes out of the brush holders. Remove the retainer from the armature shaft. Then remove the screws from the lower housing and pry the housing off. You should be able to pull the armature out now. You can either try to remove the old bearings and press the new ones on. But I took mine to a small too repair shop and for a minimal amount they did the job form me. Since the fan is no longer available I didn't want to take a chance of damaging it. Now all you need to do is replace the parts that you removed in reverse order. To insert the spindle lock, you will need to press in part number 889858 into the bottom housing then put the spring on the spindle lock and push the spindle lock in.

Replaced upper and lower bearings. I had to fabricate some tools to remove and press the new bearings.
During the repair, the on/off switch broke and I had to order a new one and replace it.
The router now runs better, smoother and quieter than it has in years.
