Product Information
Description:
This is an OEM Authorized replacement part used on variety of power tools. Ball bearings are used to reduce friction between rotating parts. The balls or rollers take the load and spin, distributing the weight evenly while the minimal contact area of the ball reduces friction. This reduces wear on the tool and allows it to run smoothly. Bearings experience constant wear when the tool is in operation from pressure, heat, vibration and friction. Because of this, many Bearings need periodic maintenance or replacement.

The lower blade guide bearings siezed up on my Jet JWBS-14SAF-3 band saw
I had to remove a knurled knob to get the old bearings off. . The parts department at Jet told me the knob was pressed on, it wasn't. The technical support department told me it was threaded on, and that it had thread lock on the threads. I drilled a hole in a block of wood about the same size diameter of the shaft I had to hold. Then I cut the block in half (along the length of the hole) so that I could wrap sandpaper around the shaft and put it in the block and then in the bench vice. That gave me a good grip on the shaft so it wouldn't spin. Then I used vice grip pliers to remove the knurled knob. Once the knob was off I pried the old bearings off using a screwdriver and pliers. I heated the new bearings just a little so that they slid on the shaft easily. To heat the bearings I just slid them (one at a time) over my soldering iron shaft for a few seconds. Then I re-assembled everything.

    roller bearing guides
bearings were for the blade guide on my 12" jet band saw. was quick...quicker and easier then I planned. it was the 1st time since I bought the saw that I replaced the bearings. should have done this much sooner as the saw now runs much smoother and much more quieter.
